Even as #WorldAIDSDay 2015 come and goes, it becomes clearer that only an uncommon solution would save the world from AIDS and it’s associated complications.

It is in this light that the World Health Organisation identifies the panacea to the total and sustained eradication of HIV/AIDS from the world. In a statement marking the World AIDS Day, 2015, Director-General of the WHO has this to say;

“Over the last 15 years, scale-up of ART has been most dramatic in the WHO African Region where now more than 11 million people are receiving HIV treatment, up from 11 000 at the turn of the century.”
“Trial results published earlier this year have confirmed that people living with HIV who begin antiretroviral therapy soon after acquiring the virus – before the virus has weakened their immune systems – are more likely to stay healthy and less likely to transmit the virus to their partners.”
Undoubtedly, the end of AIDS, however sluggish, is just in sight.
