Hello dear readers… We are proud to launch this new feature, Social Media Voce. Considering that more Nigerians (particularly health professionals and health enthusiasts) are taking to the internet, via their smart phones, we have decided to get rolling this new feature, where we bring happenings, developments, and trends right at you.
In this maiden Social Media Voce, we gladly catch the fever currently overwhelming Professor Adewole, Nigeria’s Health Minister. In a recent twitter feed, the high pitched worded text proves that the arrival of the Linac Radiotherapy Machines (2 brand new machines), was long over due.
WHAT IS A LINAC RADIOTHERAPY MACHINE:
The word LINAC means Linear Accelerator… If you join the words properly you have, Linear Accelerator Radiotherapy Machine.
Radiation therapy or radiotherapy (RT) describes the clinical process that uses ionizing radiation to kill cancerous cells. It is one of the major medical modalities used in treating cancers.
Now the National Hospital has two (2) of them. It is our hope that more good things will be announced in the health sector too.

Now to the Classroom…
The First ever induction for Dental Doctors, by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, took place in the Lagos State College of Medicine. Recall that students of the Department protested their prolonged, agonizing stay in school, and not being inducted, after so many years of accreditation delays.
So it was all cheery news when the twitter handle, @lasumsa hailed the new Dental Doctors on this milestone achievement. The patience and determination of these doctors were tested and they passed in flying colours.
