“My life, my medicine”, a Chief Medical director’s story is a book written by the former CMD of Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Prof. Akin Osibogun. It captures his experience as a medical personnel in a 295-page book.
He captured the many problems encountered and the successes achieved as the CMD of LUTH. He noted:
Every manager knows what planning is very crucial to success in any organization and that a failure to plan is surely a plan to fail… It is hoped that the little experiences I am sharing in this book will be useful particularly to Hospital Managers and other interested in the progress of institutions
The running of any institution is not an easy task, it is not however more difficult for a health institution. Doctors are not taught as a course on management of a hospital, but the practice entails that such leadership principles are instilled in us. So doctors, lets see to it that our hospital management continue to improve.
