It is no news that Obesity and Overweight are growing problems world wide. They are to a very great extent associated with pregnancy conditions. From a nationwide cohort study, it has been shown that Maternal weight gain between consecutive pregnancies is linked to complications such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and preterm birth or still birth.
The challenge in this regard is that women who are obese before pregnancy are to try loose weight. Moreso, these women tend to regain their pre-pregnancy weight after the first pregnancy leading to complications in the second birth. However, healthy diets and physical activities are beneficial in reducing weight to avoid pregnancy complications.
So, young ladies; please try to keep fit, for health is wealth!
