
The 32 persons include 11 persons from the immediate family of the deceased, 18 persons from the hospital where the patient was first admitted and three other persons who made contact with the deceased.
Also, two disease surveillance officers in the local government areas (Oshimili South and North) have been asked to monitor the temperature of those under surveillance for the period of 21 days.
The state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Nicholas Azinge, in a statement, said that the Delta State government has sensitized health workers in the state on the high index of suspension. He said citizens were to take preventive measures to forestall the spread.
The commissioner further maintained that actions taken by the state government to checkmate further occurrence include awareness creation through various mass media to enable the public understand how the decease is transmitted and that the drug ribavirin had been procured for immediate case management, amongst others.
