Neurosurgeon Ben Carson Refers To Slave As Immigrants

Multiple Award winning Neurosurgeon Dr Ben Carson, who happens to be have recently been confirmed as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development by the United States Senate is in the news again. This time it is for a simple, but far reaching statement credited to him when he spoke to agency employees about the virtues of the “can-do” American society

…this value system was best exemplified by slaves, whom he characterized as immigrants who came to the United States with very little and worked very hard.

“That’s what America is about,”

“A land of dreams and opportunity. There were other immigrants who came here in the bottom of slave ships, worked even longer, even harder for less. But they too had a dream that one day their sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, great grandsons, great granddaughters might pursue prosperity and happiness in this land.”
