Improvements on combined oral contraceptives have been ongoing over the years and the third-generation pills have emerged containing an improved progestogen ingredient and these include; cyproterone acetate and desogestrel. More recent developments show that using the new improved active substances present in dianofem and desofem offer health benefits with fewer side effects.
Dianofem is an oral daily contraceptive pill containing a well-balanced combination of an antiandrogen (Cyproterone acetate 2mg) and estrogen (ethinylestradiol 0.035mg) used safely and effectively in the treatment of acne, hirsutism (excessive facial and body hair growth), management of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), as well as pregnancy prevention.
Desofem is an oral daily contraceptive pill containing desogestrel 0.15mg and ethinylestradiol 0.03mg used safely and effectively in the treatment of menorrhagia (heavy menstruation), dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation), premenstrual syndrome (PMS), as well as pregnancy prevention.
