AMLSNIt is with great shock that the entire AMLSN family received the news of the unfortunate ill-fated trip of the students of Medical Laboratory Science, Imo State University enroute Jos, Plateau State, for the National Conference of National Fellowship of Christian Medical Laboratory Science Students where two students were killed and others sustained various degrees of injuries following attack on their vehicle by armed bandits.
The National President of AMLSN, The National Executive Officers and indeed all our members hereby console with the immediate families of the victims, the management of IMSU, the entire members of National Fellowship of Christian Medical Laboratory Science Students and indeed the Imo State Government over this painful loss.
Our grief is that a generation of potential players and leaders in the health sector, who have also shown great promise in their passion to serve God through the profession, have been hacked down at the prime of their lives.
We hereby use the medium to call upon the Federal Government of Nigeria to intensify security surveillance on major highways, especially the Abuja- Jos road and Kaduna – Jos road where several cases of armed bandits have been reported in recent times to forestall a repeat of this incident.
Kindly accept our heart felt condolence as we pray for the repose of the souls of the departed youngsters.
Tam Adetunji Adeyeye,
NPRO, AMLSN.
For National President.
