The National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria, NARD, just concluded an Extraordinary National Executive Council Meeting (e-NEC).
The primary agenda bothered on Resident Doctors activities in Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH.
The Resident Doctors have announced their intentions to issue an ultimatum to the Federal Government and Management of JUTH. The Ultimatum would begin on 2nd April, 2018. This was reached after a resolution was passed by the council.
The resolution is based on perceived and reported injustices meted on Resident Doctors in Jos Teaching Hospital despite efforts by the doctors to reach an amicable end with the hospital’s management.
It has been over 9-months since NARD called off the last strike action. The peace experienced is about to be truncated except FG acts swiftly.
A major highlight was the respect paid to 3 members of the association who recently lost their lives across the nation.
Who Are NARD Members?
NARD is the umbrella body of all Resident Doctors below the rank of Consultant in Federal Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria.
They constitute over 70% of the Doctors workforce in the hospital.
