The Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria has expressed displeasure over the handling of issues relating to implementation of skipping for medical doctors in the health sector.

In a letter addressed to the honouralbe minister of health, the association noted that it had attended several negotiation meetings with relevant stakeholders including the Rt.Hon. Speaker of the federal house of representatives in Abuja to address the issue.
The letter continues: We have tried hard to restrain our memebers and called on members of National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) to sheath their sword by suspending the industrial actions they embarked upon.
Sir, having given you the opportunity to address this issue and despite several promises made to us to handle it amicably, we have sadly observed that government has tactfully reneged on all agreements reached on this crucial matter.
The association appeals that you use your good office to implement lateral skipping for medical doctors as directed through circular No.C.2262/T/111 of 29th July 2015 in order to avert plungiing the health sector into further avoidable crisis
It was signed by the Association’s President Prof Balarabe Sani Garko.
