CDC ISSUES ZIKA VIRUS ALERT!!!

Centers For Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) in central Anerica and Carribeans announced yersterday that Pregnant Women should consider postponing travels to 14 countries within the afore-mentioned regions where ZIKA VIRUS TRANSMISSION IS ONGOING. The countries includes:

  • Brazil
  • Columbia
  • El Salvador
  • French Guiana
  • Guatemala
  • Haiti
  • Honduras
  • Martinique
  • Mexico
  • Panama
  • Paraguay
  • Suriname
  • Venezuela
  • Commonwealth of Puerto Rico

This because of the growing link between the Zika virus and microencephaly. Roughly 1 in 5 persons infected with the virus will develop symptoms such as fever, rash, joint pain, and conjuctivitis. The symptoms usually mild and lasts a few days to a week. There is no vaccine to prevent Zika or medicine to treat it.
